Yikes! Today will be extremely busy --- errands before work, work, a first aid and CPR class after work --- but it will all be worth it come 7:30 p.m. I just found out last night that one of my favorite musicians, John Cale, will be playing at the Shedd here in Eugene tonight (great job on the publicity by the way, Shedd). Barring a sold-out show, I will be there! I have been trying for about 10 years to see Cale. He tours rarely, and both times that he has been in Oregon in the past decade, I have been on business travel. This will be a huge show for me, and I am extremely excited.
PJ Harvey was phenomenal on Friday night! More commentary on that later. It's off to errands, including procuring a seat for John Cale tonight.
By the way, most of you have heard Cale before, whether you realize it or not. That's him singing Leonard Cohen's beautiful song "Hallelujah" in the movie "Shrek" (but not on the soundtrack; for some reason, it is done by someone I have never heard of rather than Cale).
Evidently there is some sort of political election going on tomorrow, and if you haven't already voted, some people suggest that you should. No matter who or what you support, exercise your right to vote. Apathetic non-voters should not complain about the state of affairs. Active voters have every right to do so, and even to agree with those states.
That is probably the only time you will hear me discuss politics, on this blog or in real life.
May November be great to and for you!
