A combination of (a) my hastily written opinions/reviews about my latest pop culture excursions; (b) inner musings that may come of those excursions and/or unrelated phenomena; (c) good practice toward, and a low-budget prototype for, an eventual webzine; and (d) whatever seems to work well that day.

Happy birthday, Comfy Pain! I am hoping to play in your birthday show tomorrow and, as a present and tribute, show you how much I have learned from you since joining ComedySportz two years ago.

And as yet another nod to you, I borrowed this topic from your Live Journal:

Ten Things I've Done That You Haven't... Probably...

1. Met Leonard Cohen in San Francisco.
2. Watched my son hit a grand slam in Kidsports softball.
3. Saw Kiss in concert at the Cow Palace the night that Elvis Presley died.
4. Simultaneously published a professional wrestling newsletter and poetry magazine.
5. Taken classes from, and had as a graduate advisor at San Francisco State University, a professor who would go on to write at least three New York Times bestsellers after I graduated (Frances Mayes).
6. Visited London while the United Kingdom had its worst winter in 38 years.
7. Saw a UFO.
8. Saw six movies at the theater in one day --- at least three times.
9. Talked to Ric Flair, Paul Heyman, Missy Hyatt, Beautiful Bobby Eaton, The Great Muta, Roddy Piper, and other wrestlers in one fun-tastic weekend.
10. Saw The Clash on their "London Calling" tour.
