We were endowing each other with characters and celebrities to use as springboards for character work. The 14-year-old girl who workshops with us was given June Cleaver as a character. She had no idea who that was, and asked. The guy who endowed her with June Cleaver told here that it was the mom on "Leave It to Beaver." (Quick review: it was better than I thought it would be, but then again, I expected extremely little). It was an unsettling film with marvelous performances. One thing that the film accomplished, which many films don't, is that it humanized the murder victims, usually in a very short amount of time.
